"This price increase is necessary to recover recently announced paperboard price increases," saidJames Harrell, vice president, Tubes and Cores—North America.

Ahlstrom will increase the price on its vegetable parchment materials to compensate for the continued high level of raw material costs and energy related inflation.

The price increases will affect all vegetable parchment products worldwide on all orders placed as of 1 August and will be up to 5% depending on markets, the product and the agreements in place.

Ahlstrom's vegetable parchment products include food packaging materials for cooking, baking and wrapping.
