Ishida has launched a new software suite that gives food manufacturers more accurate data about the performance of its weighing and packaging lines.

In this exclusive video filmed at packaging materials and technology show Emballage, Steve Jones, general manager for product marketing at Ishida Europe, explains the benefits of the its Data Capture System (IDCS), Version 2.

Jones said the system would “enhance the value of checkweighers for customers” by offering a real-time visual representation of the efficiency of the total packaging line.

All Ishida’s DACS checkweighers are available with the software, including the latest in the line, the DACS-G, designed for use in the harshest environments.

The IDCS can record data from up to 100 checkweighers on a single database for effective production monitoring, Ishida claims.

“The software analyses the performance of the line against the overall capability of that line,” said Jones. The resulting information could be used to enhance line efficiency and accuracy, boosting output and minimising errors.

Alongside other innovations, Ishida was displaying its QX-775-Flex tray sealer, with speeds of up to 15 cycles a minute for modified atmosphere packaging trays and compatibility with skin pack and shrink film applications.
