ebm-papst launches AxiTop diffuser
ebm-papst has launched a diffuser that it claims can cut power consumption and increase fan performance.

The AxiTop diffuser, developed to fit the firms HyBlade axial fan, reduces the velocity in the air stream, converting dynamic energy into static energy and is for use in refrigeration plants, chillers, dry coolers and heat pumps.

The firm claims it can reduce fan noise of up to 80%, power consumption by 27% and increase performance by 9%.

The product consists of an inner diffuser with finger guard, and an outer diffuser which fit onto an existing wall plate with a modified mounting arm.

James Cooper, ebm-papst product manager, said: “Our fans for the refrigeration and air conditioning market are already among the quietest and most efficient in the world but we are constantly looking at ways to improve our technology and take it to the next level, and this has been achieved with the AxiTop diffuser.”
