Krones and A&R Carton form global partnership
Packaging equipment manufacturer Krones has formed a partnership with packaging supplier A&R Cartons in a bid to deliver added value to customers, the pair said.

The German companies announced they would be working together globally in a bid to ensure that machine and packages were aligned as closely as possible.

“In order to match the machine and the multipacks being handled to the best possible effect for meeting the market’s needs, there will be a continuous interchange of information and ideas between the two partners involved,” said a statement from Krones.

Stressing the importance of collaboration Krones, of Neutraubling, and Bremen-based A&R Cartons will carry out application-driven development projects and provide mutual support in their R&D work.

Optimised tools

The partners said they were aiming to develop packers with optimised tools for enhanced handling dependability, and packaging that is optimally suited to the handling equipment involved.

The partners stressed that the cooperation agreement did not signal any exclusivity.

“Our clients will continue to enjoy complete freedom in their choice of packaging vendor”, said Wolfgang Huber, divisional manager packing and palletising technology at Krones AG.

But A&R Carton MD Jens Eckermann said that by opting for both partners in the alliance would mean a single point of contact for both packaging and machine.
