Clondalkin has reorganised its flexible packaging business division in a bid to boost its share of the European market.

The revamped business unit structure will see greater cohesion across the firm’s eight European operating companies, it said.

“Expertise and best practice will now be shared more smoothly within the newly-formed Business Units: Performance Films & Foils, Engineered Films, Laminated & Coated Products and Trading,” added Clondalkin, which has over 40 plants in ten countries.

The Division’s Performance Films & Foils Business Unit is comprised of Vaassen Flexible Packaging in the Netherlands, NYCO in Switzerland and Chadwicks in the UK. The Engineered Films Business Unit includes Wentus in Germany and Flexoplast in the Netherlands, while Cats-Haensel, based in the Netherlands and Germany as well as LPF Flexible Packaging in the Netherlands are part of the Laminated & Coated Products Business Unit.

The Trading Business Unit is the Van Der Windt Group which has locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, the UK and Ireland.

The move will see the appointment of a new management team.

CEO of the Group’s Flexible Packaging Division, John Fitzgerald, said: “The changes will facilitate the appointment of a new management team who will use their vast collective experience of the packaging sector to ensure we remain at the forefront of the Flexible Packaging industry and continue to expand our business by creating innovative and high quality products.”
