Entire bakery factory contents to go under hammer
The bakery chain, Hunters Home Bakery, in Glenrothes in Fife announced the shut down in November of last year, blaming the economic downturn.
The auctioneers, Pro Auction, said the equipment on offer will appeal to a wide range of craft and plant bakeries alike and includes commercial vehicles, dividers, mixers, moulders and depositors along with complete savoury pie manufacturing equipment.
Tom Chandler ovens, retarder provers and Rondo pastry brakes will also be coming under the hammer.
And the former bakery premises will also be sold at tender in five single lots, according to the auctioneers.
Pro Auction managing director Mark Flynn told our sister site FoodProductionDaily.com previously that the growth of auctions in second-hand food machinery provides opportunities for managers to pick up brand name parts and equipment they may need to start lines or to upgrade their plants.
“Our auctions enable processors to purchase equipment at 40 per cent of the original price. The three to four month lead time typical with new purchases is eliminated as the machinery is readily available - providing processors with the ability to make adjustments to their production lines faster,” he said.
Flynn claims that their auctions also help smaller companies get into the market quickly without having to make a big spend on new equipment.
The tender viewing takes place at the bakery site on 3 February and the auction goes live at the Fife site on 4 February.
Pro Auction said that in order to facilitate buyers all over the world, online bidding is possible through US based portal, BidSpotter.com.
