New weigher claimed to boost accuracy

The new Cut-Gate Weigher offers precision weighing of granular products and gentle handling which preserves particle size and structure, claims its manufacturer Ishida Europe.The Cut-Gate Weigher is typically three times more accurate than conventional filling or dosing systems due to the company’s accurate load cell and high-speed feedback control system, said the spokesperson.

Accurate product feeding​

The stepper-motor driven opening and closing profile of the cut-gate mechanism achieves accurate product feeding, he added.

Dustproof construction is said to prevent dust dispersion and weighing components are enclosed in a detachable cover. A sealed enclosure for gas flushing is also available.

Easy cleaning is said to reduce down-times between product change-overs.

Compared with auger or volumetric cup fillers, Ishida says that the Cut-Gate weigher dramatically reduces product damage and minimizes product giveaway.

The machine is said to be smaller than multi-head weighers and has a smaller foot print while being easier to operate.

Although not as fast as some weighing machines, the Cut-Gate weigher weighs very fine granules much more effectively than multi-head weighers, said the spokesperson.

Customers’ requirements​

The company offers 14 different models depending on customers’ requirements. Prices depend on specification but a typical price is about ₤70.000.

In addition to weighing food products, the machine can also handle other granule products such as detergents.
