The upcoming European Bakery conference on 12 May in Utrecht, The Netherlands, aims to provide a working platform for suppliers, bakers and clients to discuss issues facing business in today's challenging economic climate.

In the context of Europe's contracting economy, the conference organiser - Rabobank - claims the event will explore the challenges, such as bakery supply and points of sale, players throughout the value chain are facing in the €112.8bn European bakery market.

Speakers at the event include Jan Kloosterman, vice president industry solutions at The Netherlands-based company CSM; Henrik Mosegaard, corporate marketing intelligence director from Lantmännen Unibake and Xavier Garçon, category manager bakery products, at French retailer Monoprix.

In addition, say the organisers, Ben Davies, from Rabobank will present the bank’s latest research publication on the European bakery sector during the conference.
