A new machine combines grinding and pump operations in one unit,
potentially reducing the overall cost of solids reduction
processes.

Moyno's Chopper Hopper is a solids reduction pumping system that reduces whole produce, such as papayas, pineapples, pumpkins, corn or any other fruits or vegetable, into an easy to handle puree or mash while at the same time performing transfer pumping operations.

"It maximizes processing, requires minimal maintenance and reduces overall cost of solids reduction," the company claimed.

The system uses angled cutters to create a tearing or grabbing action. Additional cutters in the extension tube further reduce solids.

An optional feed into a colloid mill is available for homogenising products. The machine allows processors to chose three stages of solids reduction for coarse, medium and fine particle sizes.

The Chopper Hopper is available in carbon or stainless steel.
