A variable-data barcode label printer can run at a top speed of 15
inches per second, making it one of the fastest such machines
available in the market.

QuickLabel Systems said its Pronto! 500 is designed for high-volume packaging lines that need high-speed label printing. It can be used to print labels on which the data includes variable information that must be processed as it is printed.

Eric Pizzuti, QuickLabel Systems' general sales manager, acknowledges that other printer manufacturers have claimed higher print speeds for their machines.

"We believe this is the only printer that prints variable information and scannable barcodes at a speed as high as 15 inches per second," he stated.

The machine can print single-color logos and graphics as well as barcodes. Graphic images can be printed at 304 dots per inch resolution. Output quality is increased using a halftone system.

The system is included with the QuickLabel software package that comes with the Pronto! 500.

"This printer can be a high-speed pallet label printer or a high-speed retail display label printer," Pizzuti stated. "With the combination of high-speed printing, high-speed information handling, and high-quality output, the flexibility is there."

The Pronto! 500 uses a high-speed processor for data handling. It is constructed entirely of metal with a heavy-duty print mechanism.

Operator intervention time is reduced with a large printing supply capacity. This decreases the number of times supplies must be re-loaded.
