VIP's steam packages used for organic vegetables

VIP Foods has introduced a new organic line of frozen vegetables
using its patented SteamWorks packaging process, which allows
customers to steam cook the food directly in a microwave.

The cooking method improves taste and texture, reduces cook-time, and decreases the loss of vitamins and nutrients, VIP Foods said in a statement this week. The company began developing thepackaging technology earlier this year.

Organic foods represent one of the fastest growing categories in the grocery industry, recording an 18 per cent growth last year, according to the NaturalMarketing Institute​.

VIP plans to begin marketing the new line of organic vegetables that will be available later this summer. The initial launch will include organic sweet corn, organic sweet peas, organic mixedvegetables, and organic broccoli cuts.

US-based VIP Foods, which has been in existence for 36 years, markets of frozen foods in the US and globally. The company has 150 products in its portfolio, including frozen vegetables, fruits,blends, pie and tart shells, smoothie mixes and entrees.
