The addition to the Bon Vivant savoury snack range is the hot dog baguette - a sausage with onions and tomato ketchup, nestled into a freshly-baked crisp French baguette, while Topping Royale is a ready-whipped non-dairy cream, that makes its début in the Craigmillar portfolio of confectionery ingredients. Suitable for use in all dessert and sweet bakery applications, the ingredient is said to have a light, non-greasy texture and an irresistible creamy taste.
The new hot dog baguette weighs 110 grams and contains an 80 per cent meat sausage with a traditional ketchup and fried onion filling. The company says that it has specially developed the French baguette so as retains a crisp texture. The baguettes are individually wrapped and can be baked off from frozen in just minutes.
For bakers and foodservice operators, BakeMark UK's Topping Royale is a ready-whipped cream alternative. Supplied frozen in piping bags of 750 grams, it has to be defrosted in a refrigerator, where it can be stored unused for up to seven days. The end of the bag is cut to expose the nozzle, after which the topping can be used like fresh whipped cream.
"In internal trials, we compared Topping Royale to other non-dairy creams. The results showed that our new topping not only holds its structure well, particularly compared to aerosol products, but its eating quality is outstanding," commented Kerrie Hampson, head of marketing at BakeMark UK.
"These two launches are the latest in a series of new product developments which widens BakeMark UK's portfolio for bakers, caterers and foodservice outlets," Hampson added.
BakeMark UK is the new name for Arkady Craigmillar, Caravan Brill and Readi-Bake. The combined strength of these three leading companies makes BakeMark UK the largest supplier of bakery ingredients and frozen speciality bakery products in the UK.
