Labelexpo Europe 2003 is readying to open its door in Brussels from tomorrow until 27 September and will be featuring a selection of the leading providers of labels, product decorations, web printing and converting sectors.

The organisers anticipate that this year's show will attract some 15,000 people, where around 400 exhibitors will be displaying working equipment and substrates ranging from label and flexible packaging presses, to pre-press and production technologies, to label applicators, inspection systems and security solutions.

This year's show has also spurned a new category, a comprehensive conference which will address various aspects of the industry, together with providing opportunities for networking with senior decision makers and most prominent Associations, the organisers claim.

The Conference will involve a 3-day programme of 18 sessions, providing information and analysis about the key issues, opportunities and challenges facing every label printer and converter today. Following the re-launch of Labelexpo Conferences at Labelexpo Americas 2002, the European conference will be closely followed by another conference at Labelexpo China 2003 in December, and then in early 2004 at Labelexpo Conference Latin America in Mexico in June.

Reflecting the show's central position in the industry, trade associations and the media will play a prominent part in Labelexpo Europe 2003. ELMA (The Wet Glue Association); LMAI (the Indian Labels Association), The Russian Flexographic Association; CAPT (China Academy of Printing Technology); and FINAT, plus supporting national associations such as GIPEA (the Italian Labels Association), will all have a high profile. in addition the International Media Centre will include the leading industry publications.

Roger Pellow, The Labels Group managing director, said, "Labelexpo Europe 2003 is going to be an opportunity to learn about new technologies, see machinery, meet with old and new colleagues - and actually do business. That 50 per cent of exhibitors have already re-booked for the show in 2005 demonstrates that the industry believes Labelexpo to be the premier event in the calendar."
