At Worldwide Food Expo 2003, to be held in Chicago, US, from October 29, food processors and packagers will be able to view new resealable advancements from Zip-Pak.

The company will be at booth N2616, at McCormick Place in Chicago, until the show finishes on 1 November. Featured innovations include the Zip-Pak Slider for thermoform applications and a new overwrap zipper applicator for cheese packaging.

The Zip-Pak Slider is aimed at allowing consumers to more easily open and reseal thermoformed packages of foods such as sliced meats. The new overwrap zipper applicator from Zip-Pak's AMI Equipment Division allows packagers to cost-effectively modify their equipment and upgrade from webless zippers to flanged zippers.

Other new resealable technologies to be showcased will include the Quick-Slip Slider for low-density polyethylene applications, the Retort zipper for retortable bags and pouches, the Transverse Direction Slider, and a family of new Polypropylene-Compatible zippers. Samples of these new developments will be available at the booth.

Throughout Worldwide Food Expo 2003, several original equipment manufacturers will be running Zip-Pak zippers on their equipment. These companies include Harpak, in booth N1636, Rollstock in booth N745,and Mahaffy & Harder in booth N2532.

Zip-Pak​ provides means of resealing products in original packaging which eliminates the need to store the products in another container to preserve freshness. Through its AMI Equipment Division, the company also develops packaging machinery attachments that apply zipper in-line with form/fill/seal or pre-made pouch equipment. Headquartered in Illinois, US, the company provides more than 200 patented zipper profiles on a global basis.
