The Speciality & Fine Food Fair, which is being held this year from 31 August to 1 September in Leeds and from 7 to 9 September in London, is the UK's only exhibition entirely dedicated to gourmet produce. The organisers are promising an array of specialist bakery products from specialist manufacturers around the country.

A number of bespoke companies will be showing a wide variety of home-baked cakes, cookies, biscuits and breads. Many producers will be showing products to the trade for the first time, including Land of Macbeth Biscuits, The Oakroyd Bakery and Daizylake.

The Fairs also showcase the ranges of a number of more established names including Coles Traditional Foods and Gardiners of Scotland. Mead Farm Cakes will be taking a stand at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair for the second year, displaying their range of hand-made Christmas cakes.

Lavender Blue will be launching its new range of home-baked goods, made using locally sourced ingredients. The range includes unusual flavoured biscuits, such as white chocolate and lavender, cranberry and walnut, orange and cardamom, and fruitcakes such as sloe gin, tropical fruit, ginger and marmalade.

Elsewhere, the Byron Bay Cookie Company will be displaying its range of soft American-style cookies with chunks of chocolate, freshly roasted nuts or chewy fruits, some of which are blended with a hint of aromatic spices. The company will also be introducing its new range of gluten-free products including Triple Chocolate Fudge, White Chocolate Chunk and Macadamia, Lemon Macadamia Shortbread and Sticky Date and Ginger.

Reflecting increased consumer demand for locally sourced produce, a number of companies will be featured on the regional pavilions. These include Columbine Cakes on the Heart of England Fine Foods stand, Macleans Bakery on the Highlands and Islands pavilion, Ashbourne Biscuits on East Midlands Fine Foods and Betty's and Taylors on the Yorkshire Regional Food Group stand.

A wide range of luxury international food will also be on show, with products from as far a field as Australia, Italy, Norway, France, USA, Spain, Belgium and Morocco already confirmed.

"Increasing consumer interest and a growing importance of regional and speciality foods for both retailers and caterers is reflected in the number of top quality, gourmet food companies that have signed up to exhibit at this year's Speciality & Fine Food Fair," said Sarah Harvey, senior marketing manager for Speciality & Fine Food Fair.

"This year the Fairs will feature an even wider range of UK and international epicurean and speciality foods, with many being showcased on a national scale for the first time making it a must-visit event for buyers responsible for sourcing gourmet food and drink."
