Rexnord, the Netherlands-based supplier of conveyor belts for the food industry, is to participate at the Anuga FoodTec fair, from April 8-11 in Cologne, Germany.

Rexnord will present a number of new technologies at the event. The first will include the MCC 1255. This new radius belt comes with new options for guidance in curves. This sideflexing belt with a turn ratio of two is now also available in versions with a tab and without guiding lugs, which gives a greater flexibility in conveyor design.

Also being previewed at the show will be the addition of the Rex 1500 series 15 mm pitch modular belts with flights, sideguards and materials with Microban antibacterial protection. The 1500 product line of open enclosed belts, various sprocket types and nosebars now also features one- and two-inch and high flights and two-inch high sideguards. This, according to Rexnord, makes it suitable for elevator applications of small products in many industries like snackfood, confectionery, poultry, fruit, vegetables, etc.

Also on display for the first time will be the Marbett range of conveyor components with Microban antibacterial protection. This range has been extended with levellers, wear and guide profiles, clamps, bearings and return rollers. Though not a replacement for good hygienic practices, Microban is said to ensure improved hygiene, specially in between regular cleaning operations. By penetrating the cell wall of bacteria, Microban inhibits the growth of most common food poisoning bacteria, such as E.coli 0157, Salmonella, Listeria, Staphylococcus Aureus and Campylobacter.

Rexnord will be exhibiting in hall 14.1, stand G048, at the Anuga FoodTec event.
