Fristam expands in Asia

in the Asia Pacific region.
German food equipment provider, Fristam, has established a new company in Singapore as a means to ensure continued expansion in the Asia Pacific region.
The company has been established under the name of Fristam (South East Asia) Pte Ltd., effective from 1 October 2002, and will specifically cover the South East Asia, Korea and China markets.
According to Fristam the establishment of the new Asian division was necessitated by the need to further increase opportunities for hygienic pumps primarily in the food and beverage industries as well as for applications in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and cosmetics sectors.
Fristam has witnessed strong growth in all major markets in Asia in recent years. Previously the company had a representative office in Singapore and, according to the company, the establishment of the Asian company was the next logical step.
Gerhard Poel has been appointed managing director of the new division. With Fristam since the opening of the office in Singapore in 1994, he has worked in Asia for over 25 years.
Since 1931 the company has specialised in the production of sophisticated sanitary pumps. Its current product range includes single and multistage centrifugal pumps, self-priming centrifugal pumps, circumferential piston pumps, rotary lobe pumps and nutating disc pumps made of solid stainless steel. Fristam currently operates production facilities and sales offices around the globe.
