German developer and manufacturer of cutters and slicers for the food industry Treif has launched a new automatic tray-feeder line at the IPA & EMBALLAGE 2002 exhibition in Paris this week from 18 to 22 November.

The Divider 800 industrial cutting machine 'shows the way for the future in the field of slicing,' boasts the company this week.

According to Treif, the fact that the machine can cut in two, three and four rows raises its capacity to up to 3200 cuts/min.

The Divider 800 can cut slices of 0.5mm to 5mm, with intervals or continuously, as required, and when processing products from -10C to +4C. Treif claims that slicing with the machine means accurate stacking and shingling, a feature provided by the SAS technique - SAS stands for 'stacking (or shingling) as you slice'. As with the slicer range, slicing and stacking is carried out in one process - helped by the almost vertical loading chamber that stands at an angle of 80º.

The machine can be equipped with a check weigher and sorting conveyor, and the weight of the product groups is determined, displayed and, if incorrect, the product is ejected via the ejector belt. The slicer also corrects the thickness of the next product group, so that the machine cuts within the accepted tolerances once more. In its fully extended form, the machine is equipped with a sorting station and tray feeder.

According to Treif when the loading chamber is tilted back pneumatically and the knife box door opened, the operator has easy access to the machine parts. In addition, the outlet and out-feeding conveyor belts are accessible from the front and the cutting area can be opened up and cleaned without having to remove any parts of the machine.
