One of the biggest exhibitors at this year's Emballage show in Paris will be SIG, one of the leading names in the global packaging industry.

The group will be represented by two divisions: SIG Beverage and SIG Pack, which will feature dedicated machinery and complete lines for the beverage, and packaging machines and systems, respectively.

The company says that the joint presence on the stand of both divisions is very significant as it highlights the strong links between the two. Recently those links have been enhanced by the implementation of the "strategy of synergy", the guiding principle adopted by SIG, following a number of major acquisitions last year.

The show, which is held from 18 to 22 November, offers the opportunity of seeing the most recent technological innovations in the group as well as meeting the individual representatives.

On show will be a number of SIG's latest technologies. The display will include the latest generation of the Bluestar mechanical filler, a system that has been widely installed by major world beverage producers. It has evolved over time and is still mainly characterised, the company says, by high-performing simple reliable mechanics.

Originally designed for PET, the Simonazzi Bluestar 2000 has been developed flexibly for filling in glass bottles and is the ideal technology for products such as still and carbonated mineral water, soft drinks, fruit juices and beer.

Its main features include a central bowl with reduced quantities of product liquid, simple level control, and direct feed to individual filling valves, together with user-friendly access and a separate circuit for return air.

Also on display will be the Blowmax 6 from the Blowmax Series III, a new generation of stretch-blow moulders. This particular piece of equipment is dedicated to 0.5 litre bottles for carbonated beverages, with a rated output of 1,500 bph per cavity, and suitable for almost all formats (1,600 bottles bph per cavity for the Blowmax 10/12 up to 1 litre). Each day at the fair there will be several demonstrations of the Blowmax 6 (0.5 litre bottles for carbonated beverages).
