Spanish company Isurpak Asmalanak has developed a liquid packaging system which it claims is far more recyclable than any existing product on the market.

The system was developed around certain prerequisites including stiffness, the necessary rectangular shape of the cardboard boxes, impermeability of plastics and a comfortable means to open and close the box. And this is what research engineers from the Basque-based company worked towards during the development of the packaging system.

The Isurpak package is essentially a cardboard box with a plastic pocket inside. It has folds and joints that constitute a pour spout, from which the liquid is poured. When the pour spout is opened, the plastic bag is opened as well. When it is closed, the plastic bag is automatically caught without using any pins or similar elements, so that the liquid cannot be poured. The company claims that thanks to this system users can obtain strong isolation after the product is first opened, thus ensuring the freshness of the contents.

Compared with similar packages, the company claims that its new system is simpler to use and that it offers necessary stiffness, waterproof security and an easy-use pouring system.

In addition, the user can easily separate the cardboard box from the plastic pocket, and therefore, unlike existing packaging systems on the market, it can be easily recycled. For further information please contact Garazi Andonegi at tnenmv@ryuhlne.pbz or +34 943 363040
