Sunrise Soya Foods, Canada's largest tofu manufacturer, officially opened its new Toronto manufacturing facility today.
The state-of-the-art, 30,000 square foot facility will be opened by Peter Joe, general manager and CEO of the 46-year-old family-owned firm. Helen Johns, Canada Minister of Agriculture and Food, will also attend.
The Toronto plant, uses the latest in automated tofu manufacturing technology and quality control and will employ more than 50 people by the time it is fully operational. After the ceremony some 200 guests will be invited to tour the plant and learn about the tofu production process.
