Webkote to be sold to Winpak

Goldfarb, Fleming Packaging and Winpak have agreed in principle to Winpak acquiring the business of fp Webkote, a division of Fleming Packaging Corporation.

Winpak is incorporated in Canada and is listed on the TSX. The sale is subject to approval by the boards of directors of Fleming Packaging Corporation and Winpak and to the completion of a sale and purchase agreement. The transaction is expected to close by September.

Webkote is an industry leader in the development and manufacture of die- cut lids for the dairy, food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Webkote manufactures at its facilities in Peoria, Illinois and Orlando, Florida.

Fleming Packaging Corporation is a printing and packaging company that produces high-quality labels and speciality packaging components for wine, food, liquor and other customer products. It is also a major distributor of equipment and supplies for the winemaking industry and the leading supplier of direct marketing stamps in the US. The Goldfarb Corporation controls Fleming Packaging Corporation and SMK Speedy International, a leading company-owned and operated automotive service specialist.
