A new exhibition has been launched for the European processing and packaging market by the Process and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA), with the support of the Institute of Packaging.

The event will combine the UK exhibitions - Pakex, the PPMA Machinery as well as Eurochem and Interphex - while placing an increasing emphasis on all elements of the packaging and processing value chain.

To be held across 4 days every 3 years, the first event will take place from March 29-April 1, 2004 at the Birmingham NEC, UK. The event will reduce the crowded exhibition calendar for both exhibitors and visitors, and will establish a community event for these sectors in the value chain.

Comprising Halls 1 to 8, the show layout has been planned with a panel of visitors and exhibitors to create a natural flow, while also making it easier for groups operating across both packaging and processing to present their product ranges on one stand.

Total Processing and Packaging will include all the major elements that make-up the value chain including Packaging - Materials & Containers, Machinery & Equipment, and Design; Production and Processing, while the major user industry sectors of food, drinks and pharmaceuticals will also be headlined.

Speaking at the launch show director Barbara Jackson said, "Total will provide one chance to meet everyone and will enable exhibitors [and visitors] to develop business in markets that they may not previously have been able to exploit fully."
