Amcor has announced plans to commence production of shaped cans in
Australia for a range of beverage products starting in mid 2003,
following a technology licensing agreement with Crown Cork &
Seal Company.
Crown Cork and Seal has upgraded its CAD software to SolidWorks
three-dimensional computer-aided design software in an effort to
speed up its design process in order to meet increasingly demanding
production schedules.
Crown Cork & Seal last week announced a long-term agreement
with Nestle in Russia for the supply of cans for Nescafe, the
leading coffee brand in Russia.
In the US, Crown Cork & Seal's executive vice president, Dr
Daniel A. Abramowicz, has been seated on Clemson University's
Packaging Advisory Board, an integral part of the school's
Department of Packaging Science.
Crown Cork & Seal completes $23.5 million sale of packaging
units in Central and Eastern Africa, although Zambian unit sale is
still subject to anti-trust approval.
