Low maize output in US grays 2019 global cereal production

Overall cereal production could increase 1.2% to 2.68m tons by the end of this year, but excessive flooding in the Midwestern US has diminished prospects for maize, according to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organic (FAO).

Pret a Manger turbocharges its veggie push with Eat acquisition

Sandwich chain Pret a Manger plans to give its Veggie Pret spin-off a turbo boost with new outlets, following the acquisition of smaller rival Eat in Veggie in response to the growing demand for vegetarian and vegan grab-and-go options.
