New forms of quinoa opens doors for more uses in variety of products
Often mistaken as a grain, quinoa actually is a seed, which makes it ideal for Amrita’s seed-based, raw, vegan nutrition bars. The company is incorporating a puffed quinoa for added protein and crunch in its latest flavor: Dark Chocolate Quinoa, said Sales Representative Art Adamsen. He added that quinoa is a buzz word that consumers likely will recognize it and pick up the new bar as a result. He also predicts that quinoa will continue to show up in different types of foods now that it is available in different formats, including uncooked, puffed and as a flour.
