Food manufacturers are looking to boost their ‘green credentials’ with sustainability and reduction of product waste, particularly in finished product, according to tna.

The theme is driving automation and controls technology with manufacturers looking to contract a single source supplier for the complete design, manufacture, installation and project management of a production line, including processing, distribution, seasoning and packaging.

Intelligent control systems

Chris Jones, group sales manager controls, tna, told FoodProductionDaily, food processors are seeing the benefits of total system integration.

Machines from a single source supplier are typically designed, assembled and installed so that components will work efficiently with one another, ensuring production processes operate at their maximum performance,” he said.

Intelligent control systems offer further visibility over the entire production and improve traceability throughout the line.”

Emerging markets

According to Jones, as industrial control systems are becoming more integrated and encompassing entire production lines, the ability to extract performance data, exchange process parameters and ‘self-tune’ from one process to the next is one of the driving forces in the company future product planning.

The ‘tna world’ is growing, and together with the recent addition of FOODesign, the acquisition of Florigo was seen as an opportunity to further boost our processing capabilities and expertise in controls technology to meet the growing needs of our expanding global customer base,” he added.

Talking about emerging markets, Jones said the company‘sees considerable growth potential’ in countries like China, the Middle East and South America.

We already have a sales and support strategy in place to ensure opportunities are not missed,” he said.

For example, tna recently launched an Arabic website and has expanded its team in the region to provide round-the-clock support to its customers.”
