Retail food firm C.H. Guenther & Son (CHG) has acquired artisanal baker Tribeca Oven.

President and CEO of CHG Dale W. Tremblay said the company would be able to successfully expand and grow the artisan bread business in the US.

Tribeca Oven was founded in 1988 as a fresh bread bakery, but since expanded into fresh and frozen par-baked goods. Founder Peter Lobel will work as a consultant with Tremblay but other executives will stay.

With this acquisition, Guenther will have ten production facilities in the US, three in Canada, and three across Europe in the UK and Belgium.
