Urquhart to retire

He will become VP, medical and packaging systems, and Michael Urquhart, current VP global sales, packaging systems will retire this month.

FoodProductionDaily.com announced in November last year, Husky would acquire medical and closure mold maker, Schöttli Group.

It means Schöttli customers have access to Husky’s hot runner, controller and injection molding machines.

Following the transaction, Schöttli’s headquarters in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, and facilities in San Dimas, California and Suzhou, China, will become part of Husky’s global network.

Urquhart has been with Husky since 1980 in many capacities, including VP, mold operations and VP, machine operations.

Hylectric injection molding

The business acquisition brought together Schöttli technology, Husky’s mould-making facilities in Austria and the Czech Republic, aftermarket tooling and services, and the Hylectric injection molding press platform.

Husky will exhibit at Chinaplas 2014, from April 23–26, in Shanghai, China, claiming it is focusing on its hot runners and controllers and developing products and services that solve customers’ injection molding challenges in gate quality, balance, ease of use and maintainability.

Altanium Matrix2

“We are very excited about exhibiting at Chinaplas and have always found it to be a great event for connecting with existing and prospective customers in Asia Pacific,” said Gerardo Chiaia, president, Hot Runners, Husky.

Among the technologies to be demonstrated include the Ultra SideGate hot runner, Ultra nozzles, and synchronized stem control applications.

It will also display its recently launched Altanium Delta3 and upcoming Altanium Matrix2.
