Food and packaging : two mammoth industries work together
Conferences ran throughout the three-day show, on topics including automation, the challenges facing research and development, and preventing muscular-skeletal disorders in factory handling workers.
Francoise Gorga (left) and Bérénice Mazoyer (right) from the ANIA (Association Nationale des Industries Alimentaires, the trade association for the French food industries) gave a talk on the topic “Hygiene safety in food and packaging: how do the food and packaging industries collaborate?”
The speakers covered ANIA’s collaboration with CLIFE, France’s trade association for packaging. The two have formed a liaison committee, CLAC, which shares knowledge on combatting problems such as the BPA and mineral oil scandals. The committee is currently working on a report on biocides and their contact with food.
