New president announced for PTI
Scott Steele is the new president of Plastic Technologies Inc (PTI), the US-based plastic packaging development and design company has said.
The recent appointment will see Steele step up from vice president, a role he had held since 1995, and become responsible for global operations.
Since joining PTI in 1987 as one of the firm’s first employees, he has helped in the development of a number of design and manufacturing innovations in blow moulding for plastic packaging. Steele is also the author of 11 US and international patents.
“I am looking forward to beginning the next chapter in my long tenure with PTI,” he said. “Our top priority will continue to be helping our brand owner clients commercialize packages that meet or exceed performance criteria”.
Steele began his career at Owens-Illinois (O-I) as a member of the team that developed and commercialised the world’s first successful polyester (PET) carbonated soft drink container.
He has been an active member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and is the past chairman of the Blow Molding Division board.
“Scott has been with PTI since the very beginning. His broad-based expertise in plastic packaging and his leadership skills make him the ideal person to take our company to the next level,” said company founder Dr Tom Brady. “Having worked very closely with our clients for many years, Scott knows what it takes to deliver leading edge, commercial packaging results.”
Dr Brady will continue is his role as PTI chairman.
