Borealis has announced it is to increase all polyethylene and polypropylene prices from next week.

The company said that all PE and PP tariffs would rise by EUR 100/tonne as of January 25, 2010.

“We have decided on this price increase to restore our margins and stay in line with our innovation strategy,” said Lorenzo Delorenzi, Borealis Executive Vice President Polyolefins.

Rival LyondellBasell also increased its PP and PE prices by the same amount earlier this month, citing the costs of escalating feedstocks.
