Habasit Rossi, the conveyor belt supplier, is targeting the fruit and vegetable handling industry in the UK with a free audit and belt chart campaign.

A spokesperson for the manufacturer told FoodProductionDaily.com that the free audits being offered to fresh produce companies are a part of a series of campaigns aimed at informing UK food processors about its restructured sales team. The company is set to follow this initiative with one targeted at meat and poultry processors, according to the spokesperson. New strategy"Habasit Rossi's new sales strategy involves having a dedicated specialist working with customers in a particular food sector to develop conveyor belts that meet their specific requirements and lead to reduced downtime," said the spokesperson. The company, which intends to mail potential customers in the coming weeks with an information pack, said that it hopes to increase consumer awareness of its operations. "Companies accepting the audit will also be provided with a belt chart and invited to put Habasit Rossi's 24/7 service to the test," said the belt manufacturer. Retrofitting"Another key part of the initiative is to highlight the fact that our conveyor belts can be retrofitted and to demonstrate the cost and maintenance benefits that result," the spokesperson claimed. According to the company, retrofitting allows fresh produce processors to replace damaged pieces in the event of a belt breakage without having to remove the whole belt, thus reducing costly production downtime. The company said it has a wide range of conveyor belts, in different modular widths, which are suitable for any fresh produce application. "As part of the campaign, the company is set to launch a dedicated fruit and vegetable section on its website to support the recently enhanced sales team," said the spokesperson. Habasit Rossi claims to be a market leader in the belting industry, with more than 30 fully owned affiliated companies around the world and 20 production facilities.
