Swiss-based Habasit said its Modular Belt M1185 has a large open area and small product contact area. The large open area helps increase the amount of airflow for foods that need fast cooling, such as biscuits, tortillas. The small contact area is suitable for fruit and vegetable draining and drying, and meat and poultry glazing and batter processing, the company claims. The small contact area also reduces the chance of products sticking to the belt surface, allowing them to be easily transferred and reducing product damage. The all plastic construction reduces product contamination and blackening associated with steel wire belting and allows for safer and faster repairs, the company claimed.
