Saucey packaging

RPC Bramlage-Wiko has developed a line of sauce packaging for
Unilever BestFoods in the Netherlands food which incorporates both
unusual design and manufacturing techniques.

Calvé Today is a range of sauces in six different flavours - Tomaat-Basilicum, Tuinkruiden, Kerrie-Paprika, Mosterd-Honing, Frisse Bieslook and Verse Peper - which have been recently launched onto the Dutch market.

To give the new range what RPC terms a "distinctive brand identity on shelf", the injection moulded polypropylene jar has been given a more rounded look compared to the traditional glass packaging.

The jar also features a frosted surface which RPC says has been achieved using a special finishing in the mould. It is also decorated using five colour silk screen printing.

The lids incorporate an in-mould label, colour coded to distinguish the different varieties. Advanced IML techniques ensure that the label remains wrinkle-free over the raised rim, which allows the jars to be stacked on shelf, RPC claims.

For the purposes of both product quality a security foil seal has been fitted to help maintain freshness and to provide tamper-evidence.
