Ravioli launches new production facility

Russian food processor Ravioli has opened a new production facility to produce finished frozen meat and poultry under its Polnostyu Gotovy Product (Totally Ready Product) trade mark.
According to a report in the St. Petersburg Times Netherlands-based CFS supplied Ravioli with €3.5 million worth of processing equipment on a lease basis to help get the project off the ground.
Ravioli general director Dmitry Slesarev said investments in the construction of additional infrastructure exceeded €6 million. Additionally, the company will invest a further €2.5 million in the promotion of the new product on the market.
The new facility has a production capacity of 1 ton per hour and will initially be used to process six different food products. Furthermore the launch of the new line is said to have increased production by an estimated 20 per cent.
The company says that in the future it hopes the production range will be expanded to 160 different finished food products which will be sold in the St. Petersburg and Moscow areas.
