Oxoid, the UK-based provider of food safety solutions, has announced that the 2003/2004 Oxoid Food Awards are now open for entry.
The Oxoid Technician of the Year will receive £1,000 (€1,400) plus a trip to the 2004 IAFP meeting in (Phoenix, Arizona), 2nd and 3rd prize winners will receive £500 sterling each.
Winners of the Oxoid Contract Laboratory of the Year and Oxoid In-House Laboratory of the Year will each receive £500 sterling for a team-building celebration or event, with runners up receiving certificates of merit. A new Award has been introduced this year - the Oxoid Award for Laboratory Education and Training - where the first prize is £500 sterling. Oxoid says that all award winners will also receive commemorative trophies or framed certificates to mark the occasion.
The closing date for entries has been set for 28 February 2004. Winners will be notified in April and will receive prizes at a celebratory dinner to be held at the Ardencote Manor Hotel in Warwickshire, UK, in June 2004.
Entry to the Awards is simple and involves no forms.
