The parent of a UK food packaging facility has revitalised the company's website to produce a comprehensive interactive online catalogue featuring its entire product range.

Nicholl Food Packaging last year became the largest producer of aluminium foil containers in Europe with the acquisition of the Chesham-based Ekco Group.

Nicholl manufactures aluminium foil containers for the bakery, catering, fast food/ethnic takeaway trade and institutional caterers.

The Chesham factory, which produces board and foil board lids, and its subsidiaries, were bought outright by Nicholl last year in a multi-million deal. The new company has a turnover of more than £60 million (€95m).

For the website, Nicholl amalgamated two large catalogue websites and an extensive collection of artwork in different formats.

Andrew Dent, Nicholl's commercial director, said: "We are extremely pleased with the result, which we believe is now the leading food container catalogue site in the UK."

"We believe the future of marketing lies in online catalogues like this. Print catalogues can't match their sophisticated interactive features and we can now keep our catalogue completely up to date at a fraction of the costs involved with print," Dent added.

The company, with headquarters in the West Midlands, has four other specialist production facilities in Hampshire, Derbyshire, Saint Vincent de Mercuze, France, and Seilles in Belgium with a combined workforce of around 400.
