Strong results for Roman

Roman Corporation has reported a healthy increasing in both its
turnover and net earnings for the first half of 2002.

Roman Corporation has reported net earnings of CAD$2.1 million (€1.37m) on revenue of CAD$54.2 million for the six months ended June 30, 2002.

Net earnings for the second quarter of 2002 were CAD$1,505,995 on revenue of CAD$35.3 million. These results compare to net earnings of CAD$458,392 on revenue of CAD$30.4 million in the first half of 2001 and net earnings of CAD$334,330 on revenue of $15.1 million for the second quarter of 2001.

Roman Corporation's primary business is the manufacture of paperboard packaging for the consumer packaged goods industry. The company's products are used by private label and national brand manufacturers in North America for the packaging of food and household goods, ranging from frozen and dry food and beverages to laundry detergent, toys, pet products and hardware.
