The organisers said that the new Bakery Masters competition, which will be held again in 2014, will highlight baking talent on an international platform, with 24 candidates from 17 countries competing as individuals in their own specialist category: bread, Viennese pastry or artistic piece.

One ‘Master Baker’ will then be chosen from each of the categories, they added.

The jury will be chaired by Peter Becker, president of the International Bakery Union, and managed by Christian Vabret, Meilleur Ouvrier de France.
