German bakery trade show iba 2015 will be the place to see the latest energy efficient technology, claim the organizers.

The world largest bakery show runs from the Saturday 12 September to Thursday  17 September, 2015 at the Fairground Messe München in Germany. Over 1,200 exhibitors will showcase their products across 12 halls.

Energy savings

Energy saving is on the agenda for processing technology shoppers at iba with show organizers expecting over half of exhibitors to be showcasing energy saving technology or process optimization machinery.

“Whoever invests in useful energy-saving technology, can say goodbye to the massive burden faced of rising electricity prices”,said Peter Becker, President of the International Union of Bakers and Confectioners (UIBC) and of the German Bakers‘ Confederation in a recent release.

German Bakery Technology (GBT) says it can help bakers achieve a 30% energy saving in band ovens.

The firm will be exhibiting its Mistral 2.0 modular conveyor oven, which uses energy from flue gases for a better energy efficiency than conventional cyclothermic heated steel band ovens, it claims.

Also, French firm Mecatherm will introduce a bakery conveyor line that includes sensors detecting whether trays are in circulation. The line stops automatically when idle, saving manufacturers energy, says the firm.

Heuft claims it has done away with the conventional heating method where each oven needs a separate burner by introducing energy efficient thermal oil rack oven for bread. It claims the Turbo-Therm is a market-first.

Top-gear technologies

Other new technologies in processing claim to be speed-merchants.

German firm Rondo will exhibit a newly develop industrial croissant production line. The modular system has a minimum production capacity of over 150,000 croissants per hour across 17 production rows. The firm will also present a more compact machine, the Cromaster, capable of an hourly output of 24,000 croissants across eight rows.

The show will feature around 180 companies that provide packaging machines or wrapping materials

Bosch will be exhibiting at iba for the first time and will launch its will Pack 301 LS (Length Slug) system for the efficient and flexible packaging of biscuits and crackers.

Oliver Nieburg will be attending the show to report on behalf of BakeryandSnacks and ConfectioneryNews. Are you an exhibitor with a story to share? Get in touch HERE.
