General Mills is reintroducing its artificially colored and flavored cereal after consumers complained its natural version did not make the grade – a daring move as the trend towards clean, natural foods gains momentum worldwide. Aligned with this though, Corkers has launched Olive Oil chips and NuGo Nutrition capitalizes on the demand for plant-based proteins with its cookies.
Trix

Taking a step back

Yesterday, General Mills announced on Twitter it is bringing back Classic Trix cereal made with artificial dyes and flavors.

The cereal will appear on supermarket shelves around the US in October, alongside its natural counterpart.

General Mills started selling all-natural Trix in early 2016, which replaced synthetic colors with radishes, purple carrots and turmeric.

However, according to the company, consumers complained it has not shaped up to the vibrant neon colours and nostalgic taste of the classic cereal.
