FoodProductionDaily.com is hosting a free face-to-face conference next Wednesday (March 28) as part of Anuga FoodTec 2012 – where thousands of key industry players will assemble for one of the most important trade shows of the year.

Meat Technology – What the Future Holds will feature three top speakers who will provide expert insights key issues facing the sector today. 

Datamonitor research fellow Andrew Streeter will be exploring the changing role of packaging brands and how meat compares to other sectors.

Dr Marta Hugas, from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), will explain the agency’s thinking behind the upcoming overhaul of the region’s meat inspection regime.

Head of EFSA’s BIOHAZ panel of experts charged with formulating the programme, Dr Hugas is uniquely placed to outline the changes and what they will mean to the industry.

High pressure processing is seen by many as one of the most promising of the non-thermal technologies that are attracting huge interest from food manufacturers. Multivac’s Dr Tobias Richter will talking about the promises and challenges of introducing HPP into meat production lines.

The free three-hour event will be rounded off by an informal networking lunch where industry experts, suppliers and brand owner will have the ideal opportunity to exchange views on issues discussed.
