Ready Pac’s Bistro Bowl Wrap Kits and Chopped Salads are geared toward shoppers looking for meal options connecting the dots between convenience, quality, and healthfulness. The products (housed in bowl packaging with see-through film lidding) combine fresh ingredients, compartmentalized to give consumers the ability to customize the dishes according to their taste.
Hungry for convenience
Tristan Simpson, vice president of corporate communications for Ready Pac, told FoodProductionDaily the Bistro Bowl family of products fits an underserved need for healthful, fresh, convenient meals.
"Our consumers have told us they're looking for more convenient meal options to fill them up without adding calories or compromising flavor,” he said. “Our latest innovation does just that."
The Bistro Bowl Wrap Kits line includes six customizable products: Thai Peanut Crunch, Garlic and Herb Caesar, Turkey Avocado Ranch, Buffalo Style Chicken, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Chicken Caesar. Each bowl contains fresh vegetables, protein, sauce, and a pita wrap, kept separate in the packaging for optimal flavor and texture.
The Bistro Bowl Chopped Salads capitalize on the current restaurant trend favouring chopped salads. The line includes three varieties (Chopped Italian, Chopped-Kickin' BBQ and Chopped Kale Apple), each housed in a single-serve salad bowl.
Coinciding with the launch of the two Bistro Bowl lines, Ready Pac is revamping the look of the packaging across the Bistro product family. According to Simpson, the updated look is designed to evoke a sidewalk café where such products might be consumed.
