The European Pallet Association (EPAL) has partnered with European transport internet radio station ET-RADIO.de to launch a broadcast show with the first pallet programme live on air on Monday (October 6) at 7pm.

‘Ingeniously simple – simply ingenious: the EPAL euro pallets magazine’ will give listeners useful information for handling euro pallets on a daily basis and recount interesting background stories from pallet users, professional lorry drivers and people who work in the transportation and logistics industry.

How can you identify fake pallets?

Martin Leibrandt, CEO, EPAL, told FoodProductionDaily the first guest speaker is Alexander Becker, director of the EPAL Academy, who will talk about the history of euro pallets, among other things.

The pallet programme is both live and pre-recorded. It’s a mixture of commentaries, interviews, reports and live transmissions. Every edition will have a guest speaker,” he said.

The series will get to the bottom of questions such as “How does the EPAL exchange system work?” and “How can you identify fake pallets?".

The broadcasts will help pallet users and professional lorry drivers update their knowledge of the exchange criteria of the wooden load carriers whilst driving. They can then use this knowledge as soon as they make the next delivery on the ramp, for example.”

Smartphones, laptops, or tablets

ET-RADIO.de is available on stationary internet-radio devices and PCs or on the move via smartphones, laptops, tablets or netbooks.

The radio host will be André Sahorn, programme director, ET-Radio, a former professional lorry driver.

Each one of the hour-long broadcasts will be a mix of six discussions and songs from five decades of musical history.

The EPAL euro pallet is a success story and it would be impossible to imagine the transportation industry without it. That’s why I’m really looking forward to dealing with such a broad topic - it’s going to be informative, entertaining and interesting,” said Sahorn.

The show will be broadcast at 7pm every Monday and then repeated daily. Listeners will also be able tune into the magazine again on Tuesdays at 3pm, Wednesdays at 11am, Thursdays at 7am and Fridays at 3am.

EPAL is the umbrella association of licensed producers and repairers of EPAL/EUR-pallets and box pallets founded in 1991. It is present in 19 countries with 14 national committees and is globally responsible for the consistent quality of the EPAL load carriers and uses an independent external quality inspection service.
