According to a WEA statement, Woods has been working in the rural sector for over 30 years as a farm manager, lecturer, consultant and co-operative CEO.
The WEA was established to regulate the export of bulk Australian wheat in July this year, superseding the Export Wheat Commission, which in turn superseded the Wheat Export Authority.
Woods joined the former Wheat Export Authority in 2005 as senior manager, performance monitoring, and has been acting as CEO since July.
