Gluten-free granola brand, Purely Elizabeth, is now available at Publix with two of its first baked probiotic granola varieties: chocolate sea salt and maple walnut.

Publix is an employee-owned supermarket chain based out of Florida. Each 8-ounce bag of Purely Elizabeth granola retails for about $6.99, according to the company.

Purely Elizabeth was founded in 2009 by Elizabeth Stein, an holistic nutrition counselor. Realizing that the 'superfoods' and ancient grains she was recommending were not readily available on store shelves, Stein created a line of gluten-free, ancient grain granola.

In addition to the new listing, Purely Elizabeth’s products are also available at Whole Foods, Kroger, and Target across the US.

Stein told BakeryandSnacks her company has been doubling in sales year over year.

“Getting Publix on board has been a key target for us for quite some time. They are such a well-known conventional retailer serving such a great customer base,” she said.

As cereal sales decline, more consumers are switching to granola which helps the category growth, according to Stein.

“Our market share continues to increase. We are now one of the top brands nationally,” she said. We are on track to double in sales this year, far exceeding our forecast for the year.”
