Bimbo Bakeries USA is recalling six brands of bread products after a broken light bulb at one of its bakeries means they could be contaminated with fragments of glass.

The company has received three consumer reports of pieces of glass found on the outside of the bread but there are no reports of injury.

Some dates and codes of the Sara Lee, Kroger, Bimbo, Nature's Harvest, Great Value and L'Oven Fresh brands, which were sold in 11 states, are involved.

All recalled products are being removed from store shelves and consumers who have purchased affected items can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, said the firm.

Kroger 100% Whole Wheat Round Top Bread 16oz, best before 1 September with UPC 1111000132 and bakery code 1658 sold in Virginia and L’Oven Fresh Fit & Active Multigrain Bread 20oz with best before 31 August, UPC 4149821093, bakery code 1658 and sold in Georgia, North and Carolina and Virginia are some of the affected items.
